I am considering buying trailer and have noticed that Airstream is much more expensive than other comparable sized units. I have no problem with this if the value is there. Can anyone with experience give me advice on why I should spend more for Airstream. This will be my first trailer for retirement & travel USA from Fl. to Alaska & Canada for a couple of years. I think a 25' Safari would work for me. Any tips would be appreciated. I will be traveling with my wife and Jack Russel dog. Looking at various tow vehicles but yet do not know for sure which Mfg.
Thank you for any responses. John
I own a new 28' CCD. My previous experience was with a 28' Airstream motor home. For comfort, the best materials, handling, warrenty, I don't think you can beat an airstream.
Try New Ford F150. Car like ride and quiet and great performer. Unless you are looking Diesel.. try also Ford 6.0 Liter on a F250I pull a 31Ft Sovereign with it and it got 11 MPG in poor conditions.. But I am a bit partial.. I sell these trucks. good luck!
Check out how many older Airstreams are for sale. Then try to find one of those "other" brands of that age.
Sunline has been making trailers for 40 years. They just had a contest to find the oldest one. The best they could do was a 1974! Now go out and see how many Airstreams you can find that are even older than that.
They last, nearly forever. The skin and superstructure are all made of aluminum. The other ones are made of wood!
We have owned several Airstreams. We now have a 1987 32 ft. Excella. There is NO better trailer than Airstream. The workmanship is superior to any, the value holds up and so does the trailer. Can't be beat.

When my husband and I decided to purchase a travel trailer in 2001 we looked at so many it was unbelievable. The choices are endless, but the quality is limited. We purchased a 2001 27" Safari mainly for the quality of workmanship, resale value, and because we love the way it looks. We wouldn't consider buying any other brand of travel trailer.
