Has anyone encountered a musty odor in their trailer?
We have just purchased a 1973 Airstream and I have tried everything to eliminate the musty odor. I've tried: open vinegar left standing; Spraying all fabrics with Febreze, washing down the entire trailer with ammonia; and also an open container of "Air Sponge" product. It may be less obvious, but it is still there.
You probably have some water leaks somewhere. My '71 Overlander was like that. I have replace EVERY seal and gasket in the trailer. It really helped when my wife cleaned all interior surfaces with simple green. The best source of water leaking is the roof vent stack seals. They crack and water will run down the pipes and drip on interior floor wood. Once the wood gets wet the smell will be there until it dries.
We have a 92 Montrey 30 foot motorhome and everything inside smells musty. I have tried everything, it seems that it is in the wood above the bed, table, all cabinets and I know that it has no leaks and never has been wet inside. I washed all the cabinets down, used febreeze, opened the windows to air it out, etc. Still, as soon as you walk in, it stinks! Help
