|Re: Western Horizon lawsuit by Stan F.|
|A few days ago (April 1) I received a new form letter from “Lynne” at Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch (BMRR). Lynne Berry is a long time employee of Loken family enterprises, recently doing general management alternately at Western Horizon Resorts, BMRR, and Colorado Dream Vacations (“CODV dba BMRR”). They all have the SAME business address and are owned by the SAME family. Calling me a “Dear Member,” the letter urges me to “renew your membership” soon.
Strangely, three months ago when I wrote to the Southern Colorado BBB about BMRR’s breach of contract, the Ranch folks answered, “Mr. F. has a contract with Western Horizon Resorts, NOT with the new owner of Blue Mesa Ranch. We are not a party to his contract and cannot resolve his issues with the previous owner. He is NOT our customer.” As we all now know, WHR is likely to disappear once their St. David Resort (AZ) is sold off.
So…am I a BMRR member or NOT? They don’t seem to know--but they sure want my money! The letter refers to “the new ownership” but doesn’t mention its name or the Loken family name. As we all now know, the new owner family is the previous owner family, now operating under a new corporate name. The letter says, “the basic terms of your membership will still be honored,” but contradicts itself by requiring dues much higher than the frozen dues amounts in our contracts. If you received a similar letter from CODV/BMRR, don’t fall for this April Fools’ scam until they truly honor the existing basic terms of your membership contract! Meanwhile, let’s get that class action suit going!
