Western Horizon Forum Glenn & Linda Mitchell 12-4-15
We originally joined in 1989 and paid over $7,000. including upgrading to Platinum Plus in 2001 for a lifetime of no dues or fees plus other benefits. Went to a meeting where it was stated at the time that Jim Loken owned 18 parks and had never lost or sold any - "first park was in Gunnison, CO in 1984 and was regulated by the attorney generals office." Our home park in Ramona, CA is now privately owned and opened to the public. We received a letter from Western Horizon stating the new owners would "fully honor the "home resort" rights of all RC Members under their membership contracts" and that they have acquired the rights to those WHR membership contracts. The new owners are not honoring our contract as stated and have changed their peak (high use) season to year round instead of June, July, August as our contract reads. Please include us...

I too received the letter mentioned above. If you need a copy of the letter, I'd be happy to forward a copy to you. I do not want to pay the dues that are past due now, but I don't know the consequences and legal ramifications. I too am interested in a class action suit. Ramona Oaks RV resort gave us a letter on how to opt out without penalty, but I don't know how legal that is.

Re: Western Horizon Forum Stan 12-11-15
Glenn & Linda: Your letter from Western Horizons could be very helpful in any class action lawsuit that gets organized. I just received a letter from LANCE LOKEN (reportedly, Jim Loken's son) that contradicts your letter. Lance is "president and co-owner of Colorado Dream Vacations [i.e. CODV, LLC--the "new" owners] and Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch (BMRR). He states: "Assuming that WHR took on your contract [with BMRR], your contract remains with WHR... BMRR, however, is no longer part of WHR and the WHR contracts did NOT transfer in the foreclosure." At the same time, as you say, he apparently intends to unilaterally change the terms of our contracts (which he says do not belong with him) and collect higher dues from us (when he says we are no longer members of his organizations). Pretty fishy...

Count us in on the law suit

Please call me for new information on a lawsuit. Call me at 719-839-1810.
Re: Western Horizon Forum Kathy & Rich Downey 4-15-16
We've been members since 2004 and have not been happy either, so definitely count us in on any class action suit.
Re: Western Horizon Forum Ivan and Mary Jo Pankhurst 11-9-16
We purchased a WHR membership in 2003 along with the cabin and pontoon rental options. In 2006 we upgraded to the platinum membership. We lost our home park several years ago and now they are closing all of their parks. We have a contract with them that we feel was not lived up to by WHR and would like to know what recourse is available.
Thank You

We have owned a WHR membership since 2002. The past ten tears have been one disappointment after another because they have sold off parks we use, changed the fee structure, and opened the parks to the public. How can we become part of the class action lawsuit against WHR by it's members?

Count me in on any lawsuit. Amazing that they can get away with ripping people off.
Re: Western Horizon Forum Melanie Nelson 5-27-16
We purchased in 9/1999 the largest package offered, almost 9k and now I just got off phone with Marsha at 970-642-4150 in Gunnison CO and she told me I was just lucky Lance honored any of our contract. Count me in if there is a lawsuit
Re: Western Horizon Forum Casey and Tracy Jones 4-30-16
We became members at the Camp Verde resort and at the time purchased a 5 year trial membership. We were never told that the company was in finical problems and were given a list of RV resorts and that we would be given a fee week every year that included a free pontoon rental. Than never happened and most of the parks that we were told that we could stay at were no long affiliated with Western Horizon. I feel that we were totally cheated out of 5000.00 and we would love to get involved with a class action law suit. You can contact us at our email.
Re: Western Horizon Forum Teresa and Ken Christie 2-22-17
We too have a membership to WHR. Our park closed several years ago and Gunnison CO took over our contract. Now they are saying our fees have gone to 199 a year in order ti remain a member. We live in Indiana so paying 199 to Colorado is out of the question. How can we become part of the class action lawsuit against WHR?
