I have a pal that wants to put a subaru into his westfalia
does anyone know of a shop in az or ca that does this?

Kennedy Engineering in palmdale california should be able to help you with installation as they make the adaptors for subaru and many others. i have a pal that wants to put a subaru into his westfalia

The 2200 cc van engine is about as big and powerful as you can get in a 4 cylinder. I don't like the complexity of the water jackets, but you would get the same problem with a Subaru. I would suggest modifying the stock engine, or going to 6 cylinders. I just found a 944 turbo engine that I will be trying to add in, but that is because I broke a head stud on the stock VW engine, and a conversion may be easier and cheaper than the repair.
