I have a pal that wants to put a subaru into his westfalia does anyone know of a shop in az or ca that does this? tom b

Kennedy Engineering in palmdale california should be able to help you with installation as they make the adaptors for subaru and many others. i have a pal that wants to put a subaru into his westfalia does anyone know of a shop in az or ca that does this? tom b

The 2200 cc van engine is about as big and powerful as you can get in a 4 cylinder. I don't like the complexity of the water jackets, but you would get the same problem with a Subaru. I would suggest modifying the stock engine, or going to 6 cylinders. I just found a 944 turbo engine that I will be trying to add in, but that is because I broke a head stud on the stock VW engine, and a conversion may be easier and cheaper than the repair.
