What engine's are compatable with a 72 bus, i know a 356/912 porsche fits, but its very expensive, im looking for a cheeper engine, one that dosent cost more then the bus.

I was just given a link to a site that shows exactly how easy it is to put an Audi engine in a van (5 cylinders), by Dave Conditt. The link is to Helmut Ziegler, who did the actual conversion and has a site with pics and links. The main point is that the bellhousing of the tranny is a separate piece, that is easily exchanged, and that one for the Audi engine is already manufactured by an OEM contractor. what engine's are compatable with a 72 bus, i know a 356/912 porsche fits, but its very expensive, im looking for a cheeper engine, one that dosent cost more then the bus.
