Okay so i love my vw bus, but if you are going to get one then just accept the fact that it IS going to break down. i have owned mine for 5 months now and it has broken down 5 times. i recently put a new engine in it myself and just yesterday the starter burned out on the freeway. i would say get one, and see how many cool people you meet when broken down on the side of the freeway. i have met alot of nice people. i would recommend not getting an automatic cause the first year they put automatics in busses was 73 and those engines are bigger but more complicated, which means that you will almost definatly need to take it in, unless you are a mechanical genius, i have a 69 bus with a 1600 engine i really like how simple it is especially on the side of the road email me if you have any questions |
