There's a lot more diesels in Europe than here. I have one, but they were only imported the the US in '82 and '83. And these aren't turbo dlesels, only 48 HP. I think they made diesels for all years of vanagon (transporter) in europe.
Also, there's the Joker with a fixed high fiberglass top, rather than just the pop top available in America. As well, there's other brands of conversions besides Westfalia. My friend in France has a vanagon camper with a shower, that the stove folds away for more space, etc. Very cool and NOT Westfalia.
My advice, wait until you get to France to buy a camper. But don't expect to bring it back here, lots of DOT problems for importation. |
