Re: looking for a vw bus isaac 9-23-05
Okay so i love my vw bus, but if you are going to get one then just accept the fact that it IS going to break down. i have owned mine for 5 months now and it has broken down 5 times. i recently put a new engine in it myself and just yesterday the starter burned out on the freeway. i would say get one, and see how many cool people you meet when broken down on the side of the freeway. i have met alot of nice people. i would recommend not getting an automatic cause the first year they put automatics in busses was 73 and those engines are bigger but more complicated, which means that you will almost definatly need to take it in, unless you are a mechanical genius, i have a 69 bus with a 1600 engine i really like how simple it is especially on the side of the road email me if you have any questions

Hi,
thanks for replying. sorry it took me so long. do you have any pictures of the westy. does it run well, and does it breakdown a lot becasue this one guy that use to have one told me not to get one becasue they break down a lot. thats horrible news for me becasue vw's are my dream car so i hope it's good.
Re: looking for a vw bus Moiz 2-24-11
Hello,

I have been researching vintage vw buses, in particular the 1967 models. I read your comment about how they breakdown, and had suspected so as well. Can you please give me some more insight as to if it is worth it or not, and on average how much you spend to up keep the bus. I will be moving back to Los Angeles and plan on buying one there. Just not quite sure what mechanical issues I may face. The truth is that I really would like to own a 67 bus, however, if it is just not practical I may have to figure out another solution.

Please let me know what you think, I appreciate the help.

Regards,
Moiz
