I've been told that the Eberspacher BN4 heater uses a very specialized fuel pump that delivers only precisely metered fuel, and that no other fuel pump will work.
However, looking at the service manual for that heater, it appears that the BN4 has a pressure regulator of its own, and that the standard fuel pump merely receives power to pump fuel--I don't see anything indicating that it "precisely meters" fuel.
Bottom line is that it looks to me like (contrary to what I'm being told) a low-pressure fuel pump that would normally feed a carburetor should work as well.
Is there something I'm missing? Here's one of the wiring diagrams I've been looking at:

Hi. I'm in the process of disassembing and bench testing my BN4. I've just today found my fuel pump is not pumping, and has NO volts supplied to it. I'm interested in your findings - if you can shed any light ?
Many thanks -
Al Owen - an Eberspacher heater fanatic.

Hi, I am also working on my BN4 and also the fuel pump isn't working. It will get 12Volt postive, but no negative/ground pulses. How to proceed???
Can anyone help?
