I recently purchased a 1997 Eurovan w/Winnebago conversion(very cool) and need to get a rack for my kayaks(2). Can anyone advise which one? Can a rack be mounted to the fiberglass top? Anybody got any ideas? Thanks.
I have looked for a rack but no one wants to drill into the roof plus says it might leak. I put my kayak inside it is 12'11" but also you could buy a trailer which I am thinking would be great to transport a bicycle. Good luck.
I work at store called Rack-It in San Diego. We very often install roof racks to the to the fiberglass tops of Eurovans. If you need some help, give us call. You can find our phone number on our website. www.rack-it.com
Someone will gladly give you some tips on installing one yourself if need be. It's honestly not TOO tough of a job.
I too need advice on a roof rack system for my 2003 weekender eurovan. I have Thule and Yakima componants along with hully rollers and kayak braces. I cannot find someone with the knowledge and expertise to drill the holes and mount the artificial gutters in the plexiglass roof. My dealer says it will void my warranty. I have seen them mounted in my travels but could not stop and ask the owners.... Pgh. pa.
John,
I put racks onto my '97 and use them for kayaks. I posted the instructions at:

If you can't directly access, its a yahoogroups.com group called ev_update, message #32759. Email me if you have other questions-I don't have computer access that often though.
Need roof rack advice for kayaks on a eurovan weekender. Have you tried Hully rollers? How far toward the back did you mount the bar? I am worried about the thinness of the top.
