Gmc jimmy remote keyfob reprogramming sequence needed steve 1-13-08
Hi, i have a 1994 gmc jimmy slt, when i got the vehicle the remote keyfob did not work as the battery was flat, i have replaced the battery with a new one but it still does not work, i have been told that it needs reprogramming and that there is a certain sequence to do this, does anyone know the sequence?

Ask the dealer or check the owners manual, most of the late model units have to be programed by the dealer because of theft issues.

According to the dealers manual...
1 sit in vehicle, close doors, put key in ignition
2 hold down door lock button, turn ignition key on and off then on and off again (do not start vehicle)
3 release door lock button, (door locks will cycle lock then unlock, this tells you that vehicle is in programming mode)
4 hold key FOB lock and unlock buttons for up to 15 seconds then release buttons
5 start vehicle and this takes it out of programming mode.

if programmed accepted doors will then lock and unlock using key FOB
