I HAVE A 2002 CHEVY S10 WITH A 2.2L AND 5 SPEED TRANNY. CAN I JUST BOLT IN A 6 CYL. OR DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE BEST JUST TO REBUILD THE 2.2L. WHICH EVER CASE DO YOU HAVE ANY INFO TO HELP ME FIX VEHICLE AT A GOOD PRICE. JUST BOUGHT TRUCK AND HEAD IS BAD AND RUST IN CYLINDER WALLS.
You will never get it right if you put any thing else, electronic, emission, shifting, Just get a good used engine same letter 8th digid in the VIN, either 4 or 5, 4 being a Multi Point Fuel Injection, & 5 being a flex fuel( can run on different fuel). Firts check which one you got, go from there. If you end up buying a block, buy a long block from goodwrench(on line or dealer) because the aftermarket just employ cheap labor & cut corner so quality go down the drain & you have to redo the work again just at the end of the warranty.
