Rv heater rocco 6-6-07
Hello, I have an old duo therm heater in an rv i just bought. model65512-066. It apperas to be just a burner with no fan. it vents to the outside both fresh and combustion air. I tried to light it...the pilot went on fine then when turned the therm ostat on it smoked a bit and then smoke and slow dolloping yellow flames came out of the back. I pulled the unit out figuring i would just replace it but there are none on the market that will fit the space other than catalytic types that don't vent to outside air. Any ideas on whether it is fixable. i had to cut the baffle off of the back because it was siezed onto the ehaust pipe and i couldn't get it out otherwise. i would like to open it up and see if some mice hadn't made a nest in there blocking air flow......any ideas? Rocco

Hi Rocco
Lots of times mud daubers make nest on in the burner area and unit will not burn correctly
if you do take it apart-be careful of the "asbestos" gaskets in and around the fire box--
have you tries to google the model number of the furnace
look in camoing world fro a replacement furnace---you might find one very close--look also on right side of this page---one of the links might help too
