1976 tioga Carolyn Herman 6-6-07
I bought a 1976 Tioga camper, I believe it's on a Dodge van chasis. Didn't even get it out of the driveway when it started spurting transmission fluid all over the enging compartment. Does anyone out there know how to figure out which hose blew and how to repair it. I can't really afford to have it towed somewhere so I was hoping that the repair might be simple enough that my son and I could do it. Should I refill the fluid and start it up to see where it's blowing out first?

Hello Carolyn
the radiator has the transmission cooler inside it--maybe it was one of the lines from the trans to the radiator
hope so---

It is more likely one of the cooling lines for the tranny. My 78 came stock with a transmission cooler. Do yourself a favour and replace both lines, its a simple inexpensive fix.
