Thermocouple location Dennis 4-23-07
I recently purchased a m/h with a thermocouple for the fridge in a plastic bag! The previous owner removed the original, tested it and determined it was faulty. Only thing is, I have no idea where the heck it goes in my fridge, and the previous owner is nowhere to be found.

It is a Dometic RM 2611 2 way fridge. It works fine on a/c, but without the thermocouple, it obviously won't work on propane.

Does anyone have a digital picture or a detailed description of where this thing goes? I have the type with the two wires on it, where do they hook up to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!!!!

Dennis

You should have a plastic exterior panel to access the back of your "refer". Remove panel, looking at the back of refer now you will see most of the working components of unit, LP line 110v & 12v electrical connections ETC.... You will see to the right a round metal tube going from bottom to top of refer. that is the burner assy. there should be a small screw at the very bottom of assy you will need to remove and take the metal plate off also that it was holding. You should see the thermocouple and LP burner tube. Be easy when removing screws they are real easy to strip out the heads. Install new make sure to check the burner tube for any debris and blow out with air. The wires just follow back to circuit board unplug and rehook new ones. Test unit on LP, make sure you have a nice steady flame at burner assy. put cover back on burner and give it a while to start cooling. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info!! I'm sure I can follow your instructions. However, there is NO THERMOCOUPLE in the refer. It has been removed, so all I have is the where the thing goes. Following your instructions, I hope I can figure out exactly where the thing goes.

Also, this is a Canadian model and it has the "ETRATECH" circuit board # 50-964801-B. It is different from anything I have found on the internet, and the company is not answering my emails. Have you heard of this board?

Thanks again for the info!

Adam;
Follow the above instructions for placement of the unit. As there is none to remove, you will see a hole just to the left of the burner slots, above the slots. put the end of the thermo in the hole, swing the end where the wires come out in line with the burner exactly horozontal and you should find yoursself at a notch in the metal can. There SHOULD BE a retainer there. But, if not, don;t worry about it. The end of the thermo must extend over the slots. The wires are very stif. they will hold the unit in place. The board is a standard board. Don't call Canada. You will find two wire tabs with nothing on them. J3 and J10. You may note that the two wires are different lenth. You will also note that the difference is right about the distance between the two empty tabs. Since you saw "made in Canada" I assume you were able to get the cover off. In case you didn't mark the wires... J1 J2 are for 3 way heater & interior light. j4 12v+. J5 120v black. j6 120v white. j7&8 120v heater. should be a piece of cake.
