I just bought a 95 mustang gt and when i am driving at a cruising speed it misses. It has new plugs and wires and a new distributor. it is just a slight hesitation but you can feel it. If you get on it this does not happen. And if you are coasting and you put it in neutral the RPMs bounce from about 500 to 1500 and the lights go dim then bright I am pretty sure that it is not the altenator though. I also notice it when you first start it it takes a couple of mins for it to start running smooth. It has a K and N air filter on it but im not sure that it is the right one. can anyone help me figure this out.
You might check and see if the K&N filter was over oiled causing the Mass Air Flow senser to be coated with oil. This may cause problems with the ECM controling the engine speed.Good Luck Mike
I changed the plugs I thought they were new but I found ou tthat they werent but now it is miss firing more than it was. When you cruise at about 1500 rpms it misses alot but still when you get on it this does not happen. It has a MSD distributor which is pretty new is it possible that maybe the coil pack is bad or I am starting to think fuel system maybe. Anyone have any ideas Thanks david
