Sounds like the freon pressure is low.There only a fue things you can due to check out the unit. First is to remove the cover and see if you can spot any oil On any of the fins or tubing. If so you have a leak and it will have to be repared before freon can be serviced. Check to see if the cooling fan for the condensor is running. It sounds like the fan for the evaporator coil is running or you would not feel air from the ac. If you find there is a leak it will have to be repaired by a HVAC SERVICE TEC. The older ac used R12 freon. This is the same freon that the older cars used. I recommend that if you know a heating/air cond. service tec. that you have him look at yor AC. I hope that this a help.
