Surburban Hot Water Heater Frank Lewis 5-4-01
My Hot Water Heater was not working so I have disconnected all the wiring going to the Hot water tank. I grounded the test light to a ground wire and touched the tank with the test light, and the test light lights up. Can you tell me what is causing this test light to light up when there are no wires hooked up? How do I fix this problem? Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks Frank

Frank, are you sure your ground wire is actually a ground? Remember that black wires are normally hot wires in most RV's. Connect your test light clip to a known ground (like the frame of the RV) and try your test again.
