Tires and batteries Maxine 5-6-01
Is it better to put golf cart batteries in the motorhome or the conventional deep charge. What is th best tire for a 1995 34 foot Bounder. I have seen several recommendations for Michelin in the Motorhome magazine. Has anyone put on the Ellis safewide wheel that is also advertised in the same magazine. If so what is the cost compared to the Michelin?

I have a child's toy motorcycle that used an old Sears DieHard Batttery 49-86567. It is a six volt rechargeable battery. The one that came out of the
old toy is white and weighs 6.2 lbs. The battery has a black and white wire coming out of the top with a male and female plug attached to them. Do you think there is a replacement battery available. This toy is several years old. I have two small grandsons and I have to push them on the toy so a battery would save grandpa.

For starting bats the best is a normal "car" {sears diehard or similar}.

NO SAMS club "El Cheepos!"

For the "House " batts deep cycle OR golf cart are basically the same.

Heaviest in your size is most lead , most capacity.

Always try for series 31 {battery size}if they will fit ,
second series 27 ,
always get largest and heaviest that will go in.

Michelns are very overrated , will NOT smooth out ride.
But are OK , abet very expensive.

The wide wheels work well on hard riding motorhomes, as does air bags , inflated to only 15 or 20 lbs, to lift coach up off truck riding chasis.

FAST FRED

Can larger tires wear out steering? Jan Jacobson 5-12-01

Fred,

What is the chance that using the wider tires will result in increased wear on the steering components like the power steering box, etc?
Re: tires and batteries BILL 5-10-01
:FOR HOUSE BATTERIES, I WOULD GO TO THE TROJAN GOLF CART BATTERIES IF YOU DO MUCH BOONDOCKING. COST IS 10 TO 20 DOLLARS MOR PER BATT. I THINK THEY WILL LAST MUCH LONGER, MINE HAVE..
