Heater. When I turn on the igniter (propane), it lights and heats up the water OK. The pressure relief valve starts leaking out water within 15 mins and leaks constantly
The water heater should shut off at about 140 water temp. You said ignitor so I'm assuming it is an electronic ignition. If it really doesn't ever shut off by itself, you need to find out why,,,the limit should shut it off at 190 degrees if the thermo doesn't. As to the leak, A new pop off valve may help but the quality of valves I've been seeing lately, I wouldn't bet on it. The papers with a new water heater will tell you to expect a little leaking after the heater has shut off. I'm interesting in this "air bubble" concept though,,, there is not suppose to be any air in the water heater. |
