Yes the pannel to your tailgate is a screwed on application and it is very siple to remove..
Climb to the back of your blazer and look for mouting screws on both sides of the tailgate from inside...
a phyllips screwdriver and a set of metric sockets will be needed to remove these parts...
after removing the tailgate cover on the inside look for the latch that holds the tailgate into place...
try pulling on the latch on the ouside while turning.. older model blazers like my own have this same identical problem and has a easy remedy.
after locating your latch attempt to try and open it from the inside by usuing a pair of plyers or the screwdriver to remove the latch..
Call a local auto parts store such as napa or autozone.. depends on your area.
order the part specific to your blazer and just pull the old latch out and install your new one,
just match bolt holes up.. put in the screws from the old one.. and presto..
