The subject says it all, does anyone have any idea how I might convert a 2 way (propane/DC) fridge to be able to also use AC? Thanks

Some ideas to fool around with. Remove the 12 volt heating unit and replace it with a 115 volt unit. Then, use the 12 volts from the fridge controller to operate a relay to turn the 115 volt unit on and off. Sounds simple, did I overlook something?

This, of course, does not make it a 3 way, but the 12 volt function is pretty useless in terms of making cold, it will maintain a temp, but uses gobs of wattage to do so. I know that some states prohibit travling with your bottles on, but the fridge's are so well insulated that they can maintain a low temp for hours while turned off. A one hour relight at lunch will take you to your overnight spot.

Why not use a 120 volt to 12 volt converter and when you have shore power or generator, switch your fridg over to run through the ac powered converter.
