A/C compressor won't shut off Michael 8-6-01
I have a 94 Jayco with a 13,500 Coleman A/C unit. The last couple of times we've been out the unit will freeze up, but when I turn the
thermostat to "off", the compressor will still run, even after it has
completely thawed. I have to turn-off the breaker to get it to stop. I'm wondering if I have a thermostat problem or an a/c problem. The unit runs & cools great until it freezes up. Any help would
be appreciated.

I just had the same problem on our 15K unit, but the compressor would shut off when I put the fan controle on fan only, this should shut off the power to the thermostat for the compressor, we changed the thermostat and everything is fine now. If your compressor still runs with the fan switch in the fan only position, you may have a bad switch also. Steve

We replaced the thermostat but the compressor still runs.

What switch needs to be replaced?
