Re: Referigator smells by Jd
Post New Message The weather was hot and humid for an extended stay in AZ. At the end of our stay when we opened the referigator door the smell almost drove us out of the MH. Prior to this problem, when we closed the ref. door we heard what sounded like air being pumped out of the ref. We no longer heard the sound when we started getting the smell. Help the wife says we should buy a new ref.
Was there a loss in refrigerator performance with the change in smell and sound? Was it OK for most of this stay, and was your coach Dead Level? Is this an absorption refrigerator? What brand and model? How old? Once you figure this out, do you plan on fixing it, or are you mostly deciding whether to hire out the repair or have it replaced? There's a site www.rvmobile.com that is very helpful with theory of operation, troubleshooting charts, a forum, etc.
I have an old (1984) Dometic RM763AES and plan to repair it indefinitely. I can explain why if you like. God Bless, jd
