Every once in a while the breaker on my 7K onan will trip. there are two breakers and the one that services the front air is the one that trips... the generator is 8 years old and has over 600 hours on it.. could a breaker get weak over the years? There is no problem on regular AC service...

yes, they can get "weak". the contacts in them build a slight resistance which is just enough to make them think they are getting hot from a overload. See your local Onan repair station and get a new one.

Also extreme generator compartment teperature can cause this.I had the same problem with my RV when I was driving with the gen on.Only way I found to cure it temporarily was to remove the door for better air flow. Later I put a small scoop on it and did the trick.Breakers are after all temperature sensitive....
