I have a 29' 1995 Tioga Class C with 35K miles that still has the original Michelin tires on it. There's plenty of tread lefe, however, the sidewalls are beginning to develop cracks from age, weather, UV, etc. For purposes of preventative maintenence and safety, my question is whether I should a) replace all 6 tires now; b) replace only the front tires now; or c) do nothing.
Any advice and/or experience in this area would be appreciated.
Your inside duals probably are ok, for safety they should be changed, but I have run on and still am running on tires that are showing cracks, but know I am playing with fire.

Change every one of them. I had an outer dual blow and it tore out the fender liner. Two friends had rear dual blowouts and they took out part of the floor. My daughter had an old rear tire on a passenger car toss the tread and it caused body damage, knocked the lens out of the tail light. The trailer crowd says change every three years. Problem with RVs is they often stand months at a time which keeps the oils from softening the sidewalls. And a MH runs pretty much fully loaded every time it goes out.
I didn't have any history on my MH tires. Knew I was on borrowed time because I could see checking on them. Figured I could run slow in cool weather. 7AM and 55mph when mine blew. I replaced all seven. I don't want to have to run 100 miles and find I've only got a 50 mile spare. The tire that tore up on my daughter was "only a spare". Want experience? There it is. God Bless, jd

Replace them all. I had 2 that were 6 years old and had some minor cracking but had excellent tread. One blew on inside rear and messed up my holding tank and bent the mudflap bracket. Trust me you don't want a blowout. We sat on the side of an Interstate with 70MPH trucks blowing by while our road service got us going. They were very good, but we still were stranded by the interstate in the dark for over an hour. No fun.
One thing I learned is price runs the gamut. I bought 2 8r19.5 Goodyears the next day and they were about $250 apiece. Found out that Powerkings are pretty decent tires and they are $140 apiece in my hometown. Be sure they balance them when you buy them. Some places can't and they can beat you to death if they are out of balance. I had to take mine to a separate shop to geta them balanced, which was a hassle. Should hve made sure the dealer could balance the big tires before I bought them.
Good Luck,
Ray
