Speedometer Dano 6-28-06
I have a 2003 Chevy 2500 HD pickup and I was wondering if anyone could tell me an easy way to un-hook the speedometer without causing any computer problems. I am working a long way from home and would like to dis-connect it for the summer. Thanks in advance for your help. Dano
Re: Speedometer Phil Feinstein 6-29-06
You understand that's odometer fraud, right?
Re: Speedometer dano 6-29-06
I realize it is fraud.
Re: Speedometer Joe 7-9-06
Your engine and transmission commands are depending on vehicle speed. Your upshift and downshift are based on throttle position and vehicle speed. By the year of your vehicle, everything is designed to work together. Take one thing away, and it goes back to basic settings. Your fuel economy will be greatly affected. The transmission may not even shift into overdrive. Maybe you should car pool or take a bus instead.
