87 Southwind steering problem Gry 5-31-06
The 87 southwind became unstable and shook uncontrollably for several minutes after hitting a samll bump on an otherwise smooth paved road. The wheels seemed to move from side to side as opposed to an up and down shock action. Anyone have any ideas????

Have your front end checked by a professional. Steering and brakes are nothing for the novice

Are your front tires Balanced? Notice any bends in the rims. Bias ply tires? Non-radials.
Your driving down the road, you hit a bump, or pot hole, it sets the front tires off to start shimming like crazy, you stab the brakes really quick to stop it, it goes away, and your happily down the road again, and it might not do it again for sometime. Does this seem to happen more ofter when the tires a cold?
