I have a 1988 genset 4.0 in a 1984 winnebago,. 4.0 runs good but it seems to get to hot for an air cooled engine.I have tried to open the side door,idle it down.but after about ten minutes running it gets way to hot

We have a 12.5KW deisel water cooled and it runs hot as well. I questioned the technician at Cummins, he said that ti runs hot like that and all was OK. HTH Russ

As with ALL Air Cooled Engings, You CAN NOT run them to Lean. This Will cause them to run HOT. Fatten that baby up. Adjust Air/Fuel mixture to Richen up.
