My Norcold Fridge interior light does not always come on and other issues Bob Hunt 11-24-17
I Have a Norcold 81X refrigerator in my Class A RV that recently became problematic. The first sign was the interior light would not always come on. The bulb is OK.

A few days later the on light started blinking with the gas light on. The manual said it was a bad electric heater. (The gas was also not coming on) no cooling.

I downloaded the service manual and checked you tube even talked to a service tech and determined that it was the main board.

I ordered the board and while waiting for delivery I direct wired the heater to the AC and kept the fridge cool. I should mention that I checked the resistance in both the electric heater and the thermistor and both were in range.

I replaced the board and everything worked well for a few days then I noticed the interior light occasionally not coming on as before and a day later I got the same signal as before however I reset the fridge by turning it off then on far it is working but the interior light is still intermittent.

I know it is suppose to turn off after the door is open for over a minute or more,so we check to make sure it is closed.

I also read that the light is controlled by a magnet in the top of the door & reed switch in the optical panel. I removed the panel and did not locate that switch.

Any suggestions would be appreciated Bob
