Air Conditioner Robert Summers 3-5-03
I have a 1995 Coleman Roof Air Conditioner on my 1995 Coleman Pop-Up Camper. It is not cooling well and I want to replace it. I would like to know which A/C unit I should replace it with: Coleman or DuoTherm. This is the 2nd Coleman Pop-up I have owned and each of the Coleman A/C units have had the shroud torn of from driving on the road.

I recently purchased the KoolerAire unit for only $39.95 and it works wonderfully...just thought I'd pass it along...Happy trails...

1995 not cooling and needing a shroud... My 1984 Coleman still cools well and I just recently replaced the shroud with the MaxxAir that Camping World has. I still have my old one, but it's so dried out it's like handling eggshell. Have you checked the filters, fans, and the inside/outside coils for clogging dirt? Oiled the fan motor to be sure it runs at rated speed?
Can't comment on which brand is better, but to me, Coleman is at least OK. God Bless, jd

Befor you replace it I would clean the coils and try it again. You can buy a good coil cleaner from any hardware store.

I HAVE A 1989 FORD AEROSTAR MINIVAN, 2WD, 3 LTR ENGINE, REAR A/C AND HEATER. THE A/C CLUTCH WENT OUT, BUT THE PULLEY IS STILL TURNING FREELY, IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE IT STILL?
