F53 Rear Axil Bearings Robert J. Gauthier 2-26-03
I have noticed that the outer L rear tire/hub is extreamly hot after being on the highway. I suspecta bad Wheel bearing. I have not removed the wheels yet does the wheelbearing dissasemble like the front wheels do or do the axils have to be removed? If so, are they removed from inside the differential like my 71 GTO does?

The axles must be removed. They are removed from the outside. Make sure you don't have a brake hanging up making the hub get hot. If you have a bearing going bad, it won't be long before it leaves you stranded with possibly a burned up axle housing. You need to attend to it immediately.
