Differential Lubricant for 1987 P-30 Chassis panzerbego 2-11-03
Recently purchased a 1987 Winnebago Chieftan on a Chevy P-30 motorhome chassis. There was absolutely no paperwork included with the coach.
Any help on proper weight / grade of axle lube would be appreciated. Also any recommendations on what to use in the crankcase of the 454 (64,000 miles) would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance - Mike

In the differential you would use Gear lubricant 80W-90, and in the engine, I would use all season multigrade 15W40. You can't go wrong that way.

Mike,
I am going synthetic in my 1985. Oil, Transmission, grease and Rearend lube. Most auto parts store carry it now or you can order from Jegs or Summit.

What you have is basicly a 1-ton Chevvy truck. You should be able to go to a dealer and get the recomended spec and they should also be able to get you a chassie manual.
