Door hinge buck 1-25-03
My side entry/exit door on my 34'cruise air is worn and the door drags,i have tried to find a replacement hinge(one with built in hinges for the screen door also) but was told the only way to get the hinges was to but a new door, dont need that,i can remove the door and move it up some but that wont cure my still worn hinge, any suggestions?

Depending on what part is worn, if it's the pins or the holes for the pins I would get some of that hard plastic like they use in bushings that will slip over the pins and into the holes, if the hinge is worn then I would use a bushing as a spacer to lift it up. I used the two ways on my Bounder and with the plastic it mowes easier and if it needs to be replaced it is cheaper, also the plastic will wear before the hinge so the the hinge will not get any worse.

The actual metal hinge is worn, its an all metal design with a long rod that runs top to bottom of the door,i did think about shimming betwwen the worn parts, that would require taking the hinge and door off to be able to push the rod out,it may be worth a try
Re: door hinge jd 1-25-03
It was a cheesy fix, but I split some washers, spread them, jacked the door up, forced the washers into a couple of the voids, and squeezed them closed again. Not proud of it, but the door latches and doesn't drag on the sill. God Bless, jd
