1998 Expo Will not start Sonja Davis 1-6-03
This morning I tried to start my 98 expo and it started, but then it went dead after a couple of seconds, I started it again and it went dead, then again an it started and went dead after a couple of seconds. When I tried it for the 4th time it would not start, but the ingnition was turning. What could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sonja

It could be a dirty or frozen fuel filer or the fuel pump. You need to have somebody listen underneath the car to see if the fuel pump is running. It could be frozen if it is cold enough, or just stopped. Have someone listen for the fuel pump running while you attempt to start the engine. If they don't hear the hum of the pump running, that could be your problem. Next would be to check for spark, but try the fuel pump first and let me know what you find.
