|From experience in order of painful memory:|
Spent three days with your symptoms to find the ballast resistor had failed. Ignition works when in start position, but not when in the run position. Look for a small Ceramic block in the engine compartment. in motor homes some were mounted on the intake, in some screwed to the body.
Plugged exhaust, I had some kids pound sand into a tail pipe, but have also seen mufflers that fell apart inside and muffler pipe that flaked and fell apart from the inside. Pretty easy to check as you need someone to listen at tail pipe for a plugged of sound or no sound.
Carb could be buggered up. Common when the choke pull opens up and a passage is plugged inside.
