|RM 2601 no gas operation||Christopher L Rabe||4-18-17|
|My RM 2601 refrigerator works fine in the electric mode but not in gas mode. When switching to gas the indicator light will not come on. It has occasionally flickered. So I never know if it is ready to press the igniter. I've cleaned the back of the refrigerator but nothing has changed.|

Many details dictate how you go about troubleshooting. Most common, if the unit has sat for a while, is clogging, but you say the unit works fine on electric. So, here is a link on this site to the Dometic Manual, which contains a troubleshooting diagram on page 4. Use it as a guide and do it yourself.
Also, since you say the light flickers intermittently, you may do a visual inspection on the wiring. Look for corrosion or exposed wire, or loose connections.
Basically check from simplest to hardest:
- Check gas flow
- Check the valve operation
- Check the igniter
- Check high-voltage cable
- Check the electrode
- Check the solenoid
- Check the wiring
- Check the circuit board
If you don't feel comfortable at any point, then take it to a technician. They should be able to do a diagnostic, and before repairing, have them give a quote.
Hope this helps...
