Duo-Therm gas control valve replacement John Niekamp 9-21-02
I have an older camper with a Duo-therm furnace model no. 65025-5. The gas control valve is bad. The electric valve unit that turns on/off the gas to the burners has an open circuit. I beleive this unit is a small heating element that opens up the gas port to allow the gas to go on through.

The valve is made by ITT GENERAL CONTROLS Cat. No RV28AA31. I have called all around for a new kit and or replacement. I would just buy a complete new furnace, but I just fabricated and new stainless steel heat exchanger and burners for it and I have a lot of time and money already invested in this furnace. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, John

Greetings? Try to re light the water heater after releasing the red button, pilot is supposed to stay lit. When I release the red push button the gas goes out completely. I have tried to re-light on several occassion to no avail. Can I purchase a new gas valve.Or can you tell me what the problem is.

You might want to try Arizona RV Salvage for a good used valve.
