Converting 24 volts to 12 Bruce 9-7-02
I have a 1979 MCI 8 that I converted into a motor home and was wondering how to use my 200 amp 24 volts altinater to charge my 12 volt system. I know there is an inverter that coverts 24 to 12. Also is there something that has the capibility when you are not running the motor that you do not have to throw a switch so it does not draw from the Bus's batteries

Is it truely a full 24 volt system with 24 volt bulbs and accessories, or is it broken down at the batteries to 24 volt start and charge and 12 volt accessories? I'll bet it breaks down to 12 volts at the batteries or it is a start only on 24 volt with a series paralell switch and charge and run on 12 volt. Check it out with a volt meter.

Joe I have a military truck that is all 24 volts (all lights, starter, etc). I have placed another battery on it for a seperate 12 volt system. How do I connect the 12V battery to the 24V system to keep the one single 12V battery charged? It is using 2 - 12V batteries for the 24V system.
