|Dometic RM2652 defrosts when it gets hot out? or maybe it won't cool enough when the outside temperature rises||Mark||6-1-16|
|Twice in the last month I have found my refrigerator not cooling when it is very warm out. Warm is say 85 F or above. Last time I put a thermometer in there to see if I was imagining things. I saw the beads of sweat on the water pitcher but it didn't make sense to me that it wasn't working Anyway, I left the thermometer in there and today it did it again, the refrigerator inside temperature was at about 70 F.|
Does this mean that my refrigerator only gets its inside about 20 degrees colder than the outside. So I can only expect the refrigerator to work in cooloer climates. Is it defrosting? What do you think this fridge is doing.
Right now it is on AC but it has propane. That did not kick on but I don't know if to propane ever worked. I just bought this thing a year ago. So it is very possible that the propane part never worked during the time I possessed the trailer. It is a 1996 Nomad 26ft.

|Absorbtion Fridges (what you and every rv has) are very dependent on outside airt temp and air flow. The spec is at 80 f outside temp the fridge should make a 80 f quart of water reach 44 F in 8 hours. The freezer should make 1 quart of water freeze in the same time. |
The fridge kind of works on get cool overnight and fight all day to stay cool.
There are a couple things you should do to help.
Check the back of the fridge to ensure the roof vent or venting in the wall are not blocked or plugged.
Dometic makes a kit that has a 80 or 85 degree temp switch and 1 or two computer type fans to help your fridge cool.
You can buy the parts from your local electronics shop and build your own kit if you like. The idea is to force air flow up the back of the fridge and this improves cooling by a good amount.
Finally you may have a cooling unit performance issue. If so, new fridge is recomended, but try to make this one work first, its better quality than a new one.

|You are amazing. Thank you. I will try it as soon as I get home from work.|
Again, thank you.
I know next to nothing about this sort of thing, so I had no idea what to do or where to start. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.
