79/80 furance Herb. Voigt 4-13-16
I have a 79/80 furnace in my camper and the igniter giving me trouble. I follow instruction as per manuel. The igniter gives only spark when
ever it feels like. This makes igniting the propane cumbersome. Eventual I get it going, not to much coursing but frusrtating. I have the feeling that the igniter has some issues but I am just guessing. Has some body an idea how I can resolve this problem?

Hi Herb, remove the igniter, check for carbon build up on the tip, then hold the tip near a grounded area of metal on the furnace. Press the piezo button to see if you get spark. If none or intermittent replace the piezo and best to replace the igniter at the same time. If a good spark, carefully adjust the tip of the igniter closer to it's grounding point (about 1/16 - 1/8 inch) and hopefully this will remedy your problem. Good luck
