|Does a 1985 Mallard travel trailer have the option of gas mode or electric mode for the water heater.|
|Hi Julie, I would pretty much bet that gas (LP) is the only option on that age of trailer. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time... but then again I would bet it has had a water heater (WH) or two replaced in it's lifetime so it could have been converted to gas/elec. On an Atwood WH look for an on/off toggle switch on a box on the back of the WH and 14-2 household wiring going into the box, this would be 110V electric. On a Suburban the on/off switch is on the front lower left corner for the electric and an oval plastic cover to the right of it where the heating element is installed. There also could be household style light switches inside the trailer that operate the WH electric side. Good luck|
