Furnace will not ignite unless you restrict the intake air. Jamie 2-22-16
I have a Suburban propane furnace in my RV that will not ignite unless you restrict the combustion intake air. The furnace has both the combustion intake and exhaust vents on the outside of the camper. The only way it will ignite is when you hear the ignitor start sparking, cover up about 50% of the intake vent and it will light, but once the thermostat satisfies and it shuts off it will not relight unless you restrict the air again. Also during the run cycle about every 30 seconds it will emit a very loud high pitched screeching sound. FWI... all of my other propane devices work fine, flame on the stove looks great. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thankyou.

Hi Jamie, you're going to have to remove the furnace to do anything, so I'd suggest you take it out and to an RV repair shop and have it fully checked out. The screeching is probably a bad motor bearing or the blower or combustion fan is rubbing. Good luck
