1993 Oakland, comments and known issues and info Dave 1-21-16
Hi everybody, I am new to this forum and new to motorhoming. I and my family are going on a 8 month trip across Canada, the USA and Mexico. I'm looking at buying a used "immaculate" 1993 Oakland for $12,000 CAD and am wondering if anybody has any experience or knowledge about these units. Any information would be helpful. All I know about them is that they were bought out by Big Foot & are a well respected brand. I am viewing it tomorrow and should have more information if needed
Thanks so much

The lecture :)

Your RV is a Trailer on a Light Truck / Van Chassis. The condition and problems come from that manufacturer.Have it Mechanically inspected.

Your Oakland RV portion is a collection of common RV parts with a Oakland built body.

Oakland has no particular stand out issues beyond what a regular RV this age will run into.

Ask a friend that is RV knowlegable to look at it. Ask the owner to turn on the fridge 8 hours before you go pay for so you know it works.

Good Luck
