1977 Chrysler pace arrow charging system Tim 1-8-16  
Has New alternator, new duel battery isolater but system is sending 42 volt to battery's. Alternator tests at 14.7 when not in vehicle. When in vehicle and hooked up is putting out 42 volts not sure where it is getting amplification, I take fields loose it reads o volts output to batteries. Not sure what is going on and how voltage jumps up form fields to make alternator jump up to 42 volts to batteries. does anyone have any idea what is causing this jump up in voltage?

Guessing that the battery and the regulator are not conecting to the batteries.

That would mean your battery isolator is faulty or hooked up wrong.

42 volts would mean full feild and no battery,
