The furnace is in a 1986 Chevy Get-Away Van.

When I do the operation, I'm turning off the gas at the propane tank, then turning on the stove to burn off any propane left in the line.

I'm not sure what you mean by draining oil.

We continue to run the fridge on propane while driving. If it matters, the propane runs the fridge, stove, and furnace, but not the van engine.
