Post New Message Your suburban furnace is ENORMOUSLY sensitive to air flow restriction.

The flex pipe will increase the restriction by about 5 times in comparison to the straight pipes used by suburban. (A bunch of boring theory from tech school behind that.)

This is critical as the air flow is balanced to insure that the flame inside burns clean AND IN THE RIGHT SPOT. I have heard stories of the flame burning in the exshaust and burning the unit down.

More likely it wont light or stay lit.

My recomendation is allowing there is room build a base for the furnace to sit on so everything conects corectly, or buy a piece of stainles or polished aluminum to trim out the area and move the vents. I have a couple Stainless band clamps used in heavy truck muffler installs I cut up for this type of repair. But a local welding or metal supply shop can help you just as easy.
