Re: Building a Coach by David G
Post New Message Gee pessimistic! Why build your own? (if I hafta wouldn't understand) Why build can buy everything. I've just started ( 3 months ) my 2nd conversion, hugh project, $ piling up fast, lotta work....more fun than I've had in a long time.
The commercial units are all a comprimise...made to try to fit/appeal to all people. Why buy a rig for a family of 5 if your single? Most bathrooms are tiny little plastic things that look real cute..but are a real pain to use. Most interiors are stapled together cardboard. Fill up with fuel and add a box of corn flakes and the chassis is maxed out.
I dunno...are you more interested in the destination? or the journey.
If you like building stuff and learning stuff...
I'm a newbie, bought some books, use the internet (this site is great), look at every rig I come across, met some great & helpful people...
This is supposed to be fun
And it is.
Just thought I'd balance out the discouragement.
