Generator woes (please help) by Shawn E. Frye
Post New Message Hi, I have a 1978 31' Dodge Explorer RV. I'm not sure of the Onan model number generator that I have, but when I bought the RV... it was up and working fine. One day, I accidently hit a fence, and I tore off the generator door cover which also caused the fuel pump to bust off of the generator. I was not able to find a replacement pump (OEM), but the auto supply sold me a direct replacement. I put this fuel pump on.. and now the generator will run for no more then 3-4 min. before cutting off. I replaced the fuel pump with an even better model, but it still only runs for 3-4 min. before cutting off.

Basically, I was wondering if maybe there was something else on the broken fuel pump that might have kept the generator running and/or any other tips suggestions you guys might have.

Thanks in advance
